Nog niet eerder heb ik een wol- of breifestival meegemaakt met zo’n heerlijk sfeertje als Le Lot et la Laine. Ik was dan ook best blij dat ik als speciale gast en docent was uitgenodigd om hier twee workshops te geven. Maar hoe kan het ook anders, zoveel enthousiaste breiers, wevers, spinners en hakers in la douce France, met goddelijk weer, een prachtige locatie in een idyllisch openlucht museum in de spectaculaire omgeving van het rotsige Cabrerets in de Lot?
De fantastisch goede organisatie droeg bij aan dat lekkere sfeertje, want alles liep als een trein. Drie franҫaises zijn een jaar lang druk geweest met alles tot in de puntjes regelen en hadden aan werkelijk álles gedacht. Dank jullie wel Maria, Myrtille and Anne, de vele vrijwilligers en alle anderen die hun steekje bij hebben gedragen om het festival een groot succes te maken!
Never before have I experienced a wool or knitting festival with such a lovely atmosphere as Le Lot et la Laine. So I was quite happy that I was invited as a special guest and teacher to give two workshops. But how could it be otherwise, so many enthusiastic knitters, weavers, spinners and crocheters in la douce France, with divine weather, a wonderful location in an idyllic open-air museum in the spectacular setting of the rocky Cabrerets in the Lot?
The fantastically good organization contributed to that nice atmosphere because everything went like clockwork. Three franҫaises had been busy for a year with arranging everything to perfection and had thought of absolutely everything. Thank you Maria, Myrtille and Anne, the many volunteers and all others who contributed to make the festival a big success!

Ja, best hoge temperaturen, maar dankzij vakantieritme, aanpassen aan de Franse gewoontes (siësta!) en een koel atelier waar ik les gaf, was het toch goed te doen. En het geeft wel het lekkere vakantiegevoel hoor.
