Life 'n Knitting

Reizen is je blik verbreden en je geest verruimen. Ik zeg dan ook zelden nee als ik de kans krijg mijn koffertje te pakken. Zeker niet toen ik de kans kreeg naar Noorwegen te gaan om de fabriek te bezoeken waar Hifa zijn garens vervaardigt. Je vliegt in anderhalf uur naar Bergen, dus het kan in een bliksembezoekje, maar toen we zagen hoe mooi de Noorse fjorden zijn en hoeveel interessants er verder nog te zien is in de omgeving, hebben nog maar een nachtje bijgeboekt. Er zijn prachtige musea met veel textiel en drachten in de buurt. En als klap op de vuurpijl is er heel dicht bij ons appartemet een breimachinemuseum. We rijden er met onze huurauto in 10 minuutjes naar toe. Bergen ziet erop Google Maps uit als een typisch Noors stadje. Ik heb al een flinke lijst met wolwinkeltjes, dat wordt smullen!

Travelling is opening up your view and broaden your horizon. I never say no to a chance to pack my suitcase and leave the country. And I certainly grabbed thance to go to Norway to visit the factory where the Hifa yarns are produced. Flying to Bergen only takes an hour and a half, so it can be a very quick visit, but when we saw how beautiful the Norwegian Fjords are and how much interesting things there are to see we decided to book an extra night. There are beautiful musea with lots of textiles and costumes closeby. And the best of all, there is a knittingmachine museum very close to our appartment. We can drive over in our rental car in only ten minutes. Bergen looks wonderful on Google Maps, a beautiful typical Norwegian town. I already printed a list of the addresses of the yarn shops, can’t wait to see them all!
