Dick Bruna, de kunstenaar die Nijntje bedacht en tekende, is een bekende figuur in Utrecht. Ik zie ‘m wel eens fietsen of in een winkel als ik een boodschap doe. Een vriendelijk, rustige man. Het verkeerslicht op het Vredenburg is als je goed kijkt ook een konijn. Wie in Utrecht is, mag vooral het Dick Bruna-huis bij het Centraal Museum niet missen.
Dick Bruna, the artist that invented and made drawings of Nijntje (Miffy) is a wellknown person in Utrecht. Ik often see him on his bike or in a shop when I do my shopping. A friendly and quiet man. The traffic lights on the Vredenburg appear to be rabbits too when you have a close look. And when you visit Utrecht, don’t forget to go to the Dick Bruna House near the Central Museum.
Maar blijkbaar speelt in het leven van Dick Bruna het breien ook een rol. Hij wordt gefotografeerd als drie maanden oude baby met konijn en handgemaakt (?) jasje aan, zijn moeder breide en hij geeft ook Nijntje breinaalden in haar pootjes.
But probably knitting played a part in the life of Dick Bruna too. He was photographed as a three months old baby with a rabbit and a handmade (?) jacket, his mother knitted and eventually he gave Nijntje some knitting needles in her paws.
