Handwerkschooltje Soest
In een boekje over oud Soest vond ik een afbeelding van de het oude naai- en breischooltje (start bouw 8 mei, 1845). Nu staat er naaldvakschool op de pui, maar verder ziet het er nog net zo uit als vroeger. Alleen de meisjes met witte schortjes zitten niet meer op het gazon. Het schooltje was gevestigd in het Anna Paulownahuis, waarvoor Anna Paulowna ooit een geldbedrag had geschonken.
Mevrouw Stalenhoef, de vrouw van bakker Kors Stalenhoef, is ook breiend vereeuwigd. Lekker met de voeten op een stoofje en haar bolletje wol in een schaaltje.
In a book about old Soest I found a picture of the old sewing and knitting school (founded 8 May, 1845). Now they changed the text on the facade to ‘naaldvakschool’ (a more modern way to call the school), but otherwise it looks just as it did before. Only the girls in white aprons are no longer sitting on the lawn. The school was located in the Anna Paulowna House, which was founded thanks to Anna Paulowna who donated a sum of money.
Ms. Stalenhoef, wife of baker Kors Stalenhoef, has also been immortalized knitting. Cosy, with the feet on a stove and her ball of wool in a dish.
