Life 'n Knitting

Haapsalu, het prachtige kleine stadje aan de noord-westkust van Estland, herbergt een prachtig museum over de beroemde kantgebreide Haapsalu shawls. Ik ben daar al twee keer geweest en heb genoten van het lieflijke kleinschalige museumpje dat zoveel moois herbergt. Maar kleine museumpjes worden soms groter en nu is het museum verhuist naar een nieuwe ruimte. Op de site van het museum staat een fotoverslag over de feestelijke opening. Het schattige oude dametje met de rode muts, dát is meesterbreier Linda Elgas!

Haapsalu, the beautiful small town on the north-west coast of Estonia, houses a wonderful museum about the famous hand knitted Haapsalu shawls. I’ve been there twice and enjoyed the lovely small museum where you can see so many beautiful things. But small museums sometimes grow bigger and now the museum moved to a new building. The site about the museum contains a report with lots of photos on the grand opening. The cute little old lady with the red hat, that’s master knitter Linda Elgas!
