Mijn man is Vicky-fan.

My husband is fan of Vicky. Vicky Leandros, the Greek-German Schlager singer. Almost 30 years and he is still not over her, the singer famous for her strong character. So when he heard that Vicky performed an hour on RimpelRock (translated: WrinkleRock) in Hasselt in Belgium, he had to go there too. And I was invited to come along….. I have seen so many time the program with some well known songs and jokes, but well, a day out in Belgium is always welcome. So I stuffed my bag with knittings and joined in. Good choice, it was a very nice day. A friendly relaxed hippy gathering like in the sixties but now with older visitors, nice cheap chairs for sale and a lot of entertainment. So while Jan and our friend Linda were hunting for Vicky, I knitted very content with my shaded spot with a view on the main stage and a big screen for the details almost two legs of my Waving Lace socks from Favorite Socks in indigo blue Lana Grossa Meilenweit Cotton (41% katoen, 39% SuperWash wol, 13% polyamide en 7% Elité PBT).

Vicky’s performance was like always professional, but a true copy from her other performances. In her see through black dress she soon got all visitors, young and old, enthusiastic. The older people clapped their hands and waved with towels to encourage her and the younger people with baggy trousers and rasta hair learned each other spontaneously the Sirtaki. Après Toi, Love is Blue, Free Again and more famous tunes. But the end really rocked! Literally…… After that the impolite host broke of her last encore without mercy and made a nasty remark in Dutch that she good understand all too well, she rusted after him leaving the stage in a hurry! Good on you Vicky! 😉
