Helaas moest Wolhalla verstek laten gaan vanwege familieomstandigheden. Sterkte Jo An en Thijs!

The last two days there was the annual craft show in Den Bosch.
Second Events, the organiser of events lead by Janet Vermist, who also organises the SnB-Dag with us, gathered a nice collection of stands with craft materials. There were a lot of quilt stands, but the knitters too found some goodies. Klazien was there with her sister. The brought their nice Shetland wool, but also had some wonderful mixed yarns with silk. The BreiWinkel/BreiShop had big boxes with Addi circulars (also the great lace needles) and 10 and 16 cm long sock needles. Fortunately Craft4you sold some Clover knitting stuff, the favourite brand of a lot of SnB members. Storm op Zolder changed her place between stands that sold fabrics quickly for a much nicer spot right in front of our knitting cafe. Not a bad idea Yvon! Most of the SnB members couldn’t resist buying some skeins of her home dyed sock yarn when they saw her ongoing wool show. She made a big knot of her dreadlocks with a pair of her own knitting needles with sheep. Van Moosdijk brought some Japanese knitting books, but they were sold quickly to knitters that just couldn’t place them back in the closet after browsing through them.
Unfortunately
Wolhalla wasn’t there due to sad circumstances in the family. We wish you strength to carry the loss Jo An and Thijs!

So we all had a marvellous time. Both days were great, behind the tables as well as in front of them. A lot of SnB members from other groups and even from Belgium (nice to meet you Dominique!) joined in. Nicely crowded, a lot of interesting questions and nice reactions on the knitted stuff we displayed on the tables and on our needles. The blanket Brent is knitting for his mother, which he has almost finished, had a lot of success. My Norok, the sideways knitted skirt (the pattern will be in a American knitting book by Debbie Stoller), got a lot of compliments too. And to my surprise ‘my shawl’ that I designed for Handwerken zonder Grenzen 135, was on the shoulder of one of the visitors, even in the same green colour (Jelly). José tried on my creamy white wimple (shawl in the form of a collar), a colour that makes you look like a nun. She tilted her head a bit and looked like the Virgin Mary. Yes, you can see a slip of her Mystery Stole! And to make it easy for my to find the vegetarian bread rolls (cheese of course…..) by cutting the letter C in each and every one.

Thanks Janet, on behalf of all of us for the warm welcome to your knitting cafe!
