Life 'n Knitting

Tvåändsstickat, het prachtige boek van Dandanell en Danielsson over de traditie en de techniek van het Zweedse twijnend breien uit 1989 wordt helaas al jaren niet meer gedrukt. De exemplaren die op internet of in de antiquariaten worden verhandeld, zijn slecht vindbaar en erg duur. Prijzen van tegen de honderd euro zijn geen uitzondering! In 2011 is het boek opnieuw uitgebracht in het Zweeds. Er zijn veel foto’s toegevoegd en is er een andere selectie van patronen gekozen voor de nieuwe uitgave. Zelfs als je het oude boekje hebt, wil je mogelijk ook het nieuwe boek in je bezit hebben. In het Engels!

Om de medewerkers van het Dalarnas Museum in Falun in Zweden ervan te overtuigen de nieuwe uitgave van het boek ook in het Engels uit te geven, vragen we je de petitie in te vullen. De handtekeningen willen wij aanbieden aan de medewerkers van het museum. Wie weet lukt het en heb je volgend jaar de kans om dit geweldige boek voor een normale prijs te bestellen. Je kan op de site van The Dutch Knitters de petitie tekenen…. bedankt! En vertel het vooral door aan ál je breivrienden op Facebook, Twitter, Ravelry en in Real Life.

Tvåändsstickat, the beautiful book about the tradition and technique of Swedish twined knitting by Dandanell and Danielsson from 1989 is unfortunately out of print for quite some time now. The copies that are offered through the internet or in second-hand bookshops, are hard to find and very expensive. Prices of almost a hundred euros are no exception! In 2011 the book was reprinted in Swedish. Lots of photos have been added and another selection of the patterns has been made for this new issue. Even if you already have the original book, you still might want to have the new one. In English!

In order to convince the Dalarnas Museum in Falun in Sweden that they really should publish the new issue of the book in English as well, we ask you to fill in the petition form. We will collect the signatures and offer them to the employees of the museum. We might succeed and then you would have the chance to order this fantastic book for a reasonable price next year. Please, sign the petition on the site of The Dutch Knitters. Thank you!
