Mijn man Jan is gek op Vicky Leandros, maar dat wisten jullie al, toch? Een poosje geleden was het weer tijd voor zijn jaarlijkse dosis vitamine V. dus ik reed ‘m bijna 500 kilometers naar Gut Basthorst in Duitsland om haar weer eens te horen zingen. Het concert werd gehouden op het landgoed van haar exman Baron von Rufin, voor mij Herr Enno als ik ‘m moet paaien om Jan wat dichter bij zijn idool te brengen.
My husband Jan loves Vicky Leandros, but that you knew already, isn’t it? A while ago it was time to give him his yearly shot of vitamin V. so I drove him almost 500 kilometers to Gut Basthorst in Germany to hear her sing. The concert was held on the country estate of her ex husband Baron von Rufin, Herr Enno for me when I have to butter him up to get my Jan closer to his idol.
Mede door het gezelschap van onze lieve vrienden Linda en Johan, die nota bene zelfs een hotelkamer op het landschap hadden kunnen boeken, was het een superleuk weekend, beslist geen straf om mee te moeten hoor. En Vicky was allerliefst, koos tijdens het fantreffen onze tafel uit voor haar persconferentie, die ze hield terwijl Jan gezellig naast haar zat. De ZDF en ARD waren aanwezig en legden alles vast.
Also thanks to the company of our dear friends Linda and Johan, who even had booked a room on the estate, it was a great weekend and I loved to join in. And Vicky was very sweet, choosing our table to do her press conference during the fan meeting, while Jan was sitting besides her. The ZDF and ARD (the biggest broadcasting companies in Germany) where there and recorded everything.
Maar wat heeft dit alles nu met breien te maken? Mijn breiwerkje lag gedurende de hele conferentie pontificaal op de tafel voor haar Griekse neusje en ik kon het niet laten om het haar in de handen te drukken. Ze bekeek het briocheshawltje naar een patroon van Nancy Marchant van alle kanten met lichtelijk verbijsterde blik, maar antwoordde ontkennend op mijn vraag: “Vicky, können Sie stricken?”……
But what makes this topic knitting related? My knitting was on the table all the time, right in front of Vicky and I couldn’t resist putting it in her hands. She looked at the brioche shawl (pattern Nancy Marchant) from all sides with astonishment, but answered negatively on my question: “Vicky, can you knit?”……
